I started at Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) in May of 2015 as a Co-Op. Throughout my time as a Co-Op and Student Assistant, I had many exciting opportunities to ground my academic understanding in reality. I practiced and honed data visualization techniques using the Pandas library for python, developed visual applications with .NET and C#, and worked on inter-disciplinary teams architecting, developing, and testing a variety of software and embedded applications.
After returning to GTRI in July 2020, I jumped right back into the deep end researching collaborative unmanned autonomous systems. The decentralized control problem space is incredibly popular right now, but despite having received significant theoretical scrutiny, many operational challenges remain unsolved.
I quickly centered my attention on systems integration, test, and evaluation, by jumping into an integration project for the Air Force Research Laboratory. After a major success in the field, I shifted my attention toward internal research and development (IRAD) projects related to the field of test and evaluation. I had the privilege of leading 3 IRAD projects, gaining significant knowledge and appreciation for the complexity of the test problem, as well as leading a team of engineers and interns.
Throughout my time at GTRI, I have been fortunate to be exposed to many unique and challenging problems - many of which have never been explored before. I learned that I thrive in spaces like these, where theoretical science and creativity intersect.
I started at Delta in the Interiors Engineering group as a Co-Op in 2017 and then transitioned to a contract engineering position within the same department in 2019. While in the Interiors Engineering department at Delta, I have had the opportunity and responsbility to work on and lead many incredible projects like the ones listed below.
Medical Communications - Improving an emergency VHF communication system that puts flight attendants in communication with doctors on the ground during in-flight medical events.
Electrical Load Analyses - Represented Delta's instrests to a software vendor developing an tool used to update and maintain critical generator electrical load data. Lead product testing on Delta's side, and worked with the software vendor to correct technical errors.
Wireless In-Flight Entertainment - Particpated in the development of a multi-million dollar investment to upgrade teh In-Flight Entertainment software and hardware on Delta's aircraft.
